Our love story

John and I met the night before Valentine's Day 2016, at Alumbra nightclub. A mutual friend introduced us and we hit it off right away. We spent the whole night chatting, laughing and dancing. As the night finished up, we didn't get a chance to say goodbye or for him to ask for my number. I wasn't sure if I would ever actually see him again... I received a Facebook message from him the very next evening and the rest is history.

The wedding venue & styling

Ceremony: Oakleigh Greek Orthodox Church

Venue: Meadowbank Estate

Due to Covid-19 and the tight restrictions at our original venue, we ended up making the difficult decision to change venues six weeks out from our wedding day. The change to Meadowbank Estate ended up being a blessing in disguise and we are beyond happy this is where we ended up celebrating our big day.

The venue is situated on three acres of established formal gardens and beautiful heritage-listed trees, overlooking its own private fountain.

We received so many compliments from our guests about how stunning the venue was and how much they enjoyed it.

The styling/theme of our wedding was modern chic, with a luxe feel.

There were so many beautiful focal points, from the bridal table overflowing with white florals, the tall crystal candelabra on guest tables, the gloss white dancefloor with our initials and wedding date written in gold foil, to our statement gold mirror plinth seating charts; everything came together perfectly.

The Dress

When I imagined myself as a bride, I had a very clear vision of what I wanted. I envisioned my wedding dress to be modern, fitted, and made with gorgeous beaded fabrics, that really sparkled. But Cassandra Renee really brought it all to life and exceeded even my highest of expectations.

Choosing Cassandra to make my dress wedding dress was one of the easiest decisions I had to make, as I had already seen her incredible work and skills first hand, when she made my sister's stunning dress.

Cassandra was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process. I am still in complete awe of her remarkable talent and professionalism. Every inch of my dress was designed with meticulous care and attention to detail; from the hand appliqué of multiple beaded fabrics to create her own design, to making the entire corseted bodice from scratch.

I felt absolutely amazing in my dress, and everyone could not stop telling me how incredible it looked and how perfectly it fit - I didn’t want to take it off!
